  1. Hi, I have been working closely with a local Equestrian Vaulting Club for almost a couple of months right now. I am sponsoring their competitive junior and senior teams, as well as supplying them with the unitards they require. I have a few years of experience in the spandex business too, although this is the first time I deal directly with an Equestrian Vaulting Club.

Allow me to express my concerns with a few issues I spotted. There is a trend around here that is expanding at a dramatic rate, however I'm not so sure this applies to the UK or US. Recently, many clubs have either banned the use of unitards due to certain rules changes or encouraged vaulters to compete in different attire. I am not so sure why this trend is occurring but many have told me that it was either because of community pressure or because the new generation of vaulters are beginning to find it tedious and less 'in line' with other sports.

There's also an issue of some unitards getting ripped too easily. The clothes are getting looser and some have worn tracksuit bottoms as alternatives.

I do not think it would be financially feasible or profitable entering a sector of business that may have reduced demand in a couple of years. As more and more unitards are being phased out of these clubs, it would soon become a rarity seeing them in place, unless we only focus on a few particular European countries.

Having said that, the FEI does not approve of these rules changes so most of these decisions are independently made but are unfortunately encouraging others to do the same.
